dressmaking salon, opened in Hull in 1887, achieved world-wide patronage for
the quality and style of her ladies’ fashion by the 1880’s.
Uniquely, without having premises outside Hull she was still able to compete
with the London fashion houses, traveling to meet her clients at major hotels
at York, Harrogate, Grimsby and London
- and for her most esteemed client, Queen Maud of Norway, she traveled
to Sandringham. She styled herself as Court Dressmaker from 1901, making many
dresses suitable for presentation at court. Illustrated card covers, mint.
