20th
Century Fashion is both a web-site and a 16th century
timber-framed shop in the old Suffolk town of Clare. We stock an amazing
selection of minimally worn designer clothes and accessories, mainly from the
latter years of the last century, purchased by us from Europe and America,
together with an extensive range of books on all aspects of fashion, textiles,
jewellery, accessories, design and designers. Our books can be ordered from us
by e-mail; currently our fashions are chiefly available through our shop.
Our
Opening Hours are from 10 – 5.30 daily, including Sunday
– however on Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday a prior arrangement should be made – just ring
us on 01787
277130, preferably a day ahead of your proposed
visit. We can additionally be available in the evenings, again phone us to make
arrangements. On Thursday through to Saturday no prior contact is necessary, although if you wish to
purchase a specific book or fashion item, then we do advise a phone call in
advance, so we have the opportunity to check our extensive reserve stocks
before you arrive. To summarise:-
10 – 5.30 Sunday to Wednesday – please ring us in advance
10 – 5.30 Thursday to Saturday, no prior arrangements necessary
After 5.30 – please ring to arrange a time.
All this said, if you are
outside the shop, and wish to view, and perhaps purchase, our stock, do feel
free to ring our door bell. We will always try to accommodate you if it is at
all possible.
